Atomic Time Server
An atomic time server delivers vastly superior time synchronization
As the speed of business computing increases every day, accurate network timekeeping is an essential ingredient for competitive enterprises. Business transactions, server log files, security controls, digital signatures and system performance tools all require highly accurate timekeeping. An atomic time server can help by using an atomic clock to maintain highly accurate time. And when competitive enterprises the world over seek a leading atomic time server, they turn to Symmetricom.
Get secure, accurate and redundant with Symmetricom's atomic time server
Symmetricom's Next Generation Network atomic time server with a Rubidium clock provides an extraordinary degree of precision in network timekeeping. A GPS receiver within the time server is tracking GPS; the unit delivers the most accurate time (within nanoseconds) in the most secure way. However, if a GPS signal becomes unavailable, the server must rely on its internal clock to keep time until the GPS signal is available again. In typical time servers, the internal clock will quickly drift away from perfect time. But with Symmetricom's time servers equipped with the Rubidium atomic clock, drift is minimized to 6 microseconds per day (on average over a year). This level of accuracy allows the IT staff plenty of time to reestablish GPS contact with no degradation or disruption in the accuracy of network time synchronization.
Symmetricom NTP time servers are extremely easy to set up and maintain. The front panel is designed for ease-of-use and can bring the atomic time server online with just a few keystrokes or DHCP. Intuitive web interfaces can be used to configure the unit, and a wizard for step-by-step setups can be used for most common operations. Remote access provides administrators with greater ease-of-use and full control of the atomic time server via a standard browser interface. These time servers support a wide range of network protocols include IPv6 and IPv4, and combines multi-port, high-speed/high-capacity network interfaces with versatile GPS timing receiver technology.
