System 2000

Loran-C Timing

Symmetricom designed this system for the US Coast Guard to provide timing for the US LORAN-C transmitter stations. This system contains a 2000 series chassis that performs UTC recovery, computes a local time scale from three cesium clocks, and steers the time scale to UTC (USNO). A separate chassis provides the transmitter specific signals needed to operate the station. Two redundant systems are included in the rack with automatic switching in the event of failure.
