Bestime Technology (algorithm):
Symmetricom has patented technology to use multiple sources of time and frequency to adaptively generate and output timescale frequency that operates with stability better than any of the individual sources used. These multiple input sources may be any of a Cesium standard, GPS receiver, a local oscillator (either quartz or rubidium), or T1 / E1 lines. These subsystems improve the locked performance while extending the holdover performance of the oscillators.
Oscillator technology:
Symmetricom’s expertise in crystal oscillator technology is indispensable in designing special oscillators for particular applications, as well as selecting the most cost effective oscillators for specific applications. Symmetricom is also the world’s leading rubidium oscillator manufacturer and technology house. This expertise continues to be refined over the years with revolutionary rubidium technology implementation. Rubidium oscillators can be incorporated with other key technology elements to deliver superior holdover performance in custom subsystems.
GPS disciplining:
Over the years, Symmetricom has developed expertise in using GPS signals to discipline crystal and rubidium oscillators.
SmartClock (algorithm):
Compensates for oscillator aging rate to provide enhance holdover performance. This is a self-learning algorithm that characterizes aging and temperature response of the oscillator to predictably improve the aging of the oscillator and deliver superior performance.
Redundant Function:
Symmetricom has designed several of its subsystems to switch over in a dual card configuration. This hitless switchover function adds value to a failsafe system.
