Documents that apply to all shipments

  • Shipping Instructions (PDF) describes how to ship a Symmetricom caesium device both within the USA and Internationally. For US shipments, these instructions also describe how to interpret and use the DOT-SP11401 Shipment Exemption. The DOT exemption document must accompany the caesium device at all times while it is in commercial transit within the USA. This shipping instruction and the exemption document must be read and understood by anyone handling the shipment of the caesium device.
  • Material Safety Data Sheet(MSDS) (PDF) describes the properties of cesium.
  • Instructions for Older CBTs (PDF) tells how to label a cesium beam tube that does not have the required marking for shipping when using these instructions. This applies to any tube manufactured prior to November 2001, including tubes inside the Symmetricom 5061A/B and 5071A.
  • 1A1 CBT Label template for older CBTs. (PDF) Print this to any suitable self-adhesive label stock and affix to the CBT as described in the document above.

Documents that apply only to US Domestic shipments

  • DOT-SP11401 Shipment Exemption is the exemption from the Department of Transportation that allows the Symmetricom caesium device to be shipped easily within the USA. To get the latest copy of the exemption directly from the DOT, Click Here.
  • US Container Labeling Example  (PDF) shows how to label a package for shipments within the USA.
  • US Label Template  (PDF) allows you to print the label required to be placed on the outside of the container for a shipment within the USA. Suitable for printing on adhesive label stock such as Avery stock number AVE05165 (8-1/2x11, 10 each per sheet).

Documents that apply only to International shipments

  • International Container Labeling Example  (PDF) shows how to label a package for international shipments. The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations must be followed.

  • International Color Label Template (PDF) allows you to print the label required to be placed on the outside of the container for an international shipment. Suitable for color printing on adhesive label stock such as Avery stock number AVE05165 (8-1/2x11).
    International Black and White Label Template (PDF) allows you to print the wording for the label required to be placed on the outside of the container for an international shipment. Suitable for black and white printing on adhesive label stock (8-1/2x11, 4 each per sheet). When using this label, you must also affix separate "Dangerous When Wet" and "No Passenger Aircraft" (PDF) stickers to the container.
  • International Dangerous Goods Shipper's Declaration Template (doc) is an MS Word document that you must modify (Shipper, Consignee, etc.) appropriately before including with your shipment. The resulting document must be printed in color.
