Ensuring power grid reliability with accurate, automatic time synchronization
Electricity travels at the speed of light. This is precisely why microsecond accuracy is critical for today’s regional grid authorities. Every second of every day, thousands of interdependent events occur between generators, transmission lines, circuit breakers, power substations, and transformers scattered across thousands of miles. Symmetricom provides the time and frequency systems that secure the essential synchronization of timelined events, scheduled power flows, monitored line frequencies and line fault detection. Our synchronization solutions deliver the accuracy, precision, automation and flexibility that meet the demands of the world’s power grids.
NTP Servers / PTP Grandmasters / GPS Receivers
The SyncServer® SGC-1500 Smart Grid Clock is designed for the specific requirements of power utility substations; supporting existing network equipment and ready for IEC 61850 Smart Grid applications using the Precision Time Protocol with Power Profile for microsecond timing accuracy.

The TimeProvider® 5000 PTP Grandmaster receives a GPS input as a primary reference for high precision packet network synchronization.

Intelligent, fully manageable Synchronization Supply Unit or Timing Signal Generator, the SSU 2000 and SSU 2000e enable communications network operators to generate and distribute superior synchronization signals for advanced network services.
The SSU 2000 conforms to ANSI standards and is NEBS certified, while the SSU 2000e is ETSI certified. Both systems use the same plug-in cards.

Designed for small and medium sized enterprises, the SyncServer® S100 supplies nanosecond accuracy to accurate UTC time for potentially thousands of clients, servers and workstations on your network either from GPS, an optional internal rubidium oscillator, or from other user-designated timeservers. High-capacity NTP performance along with iPv4 and iPv6 compliance assures seamless integration into existing and future networks.

Symmetricom's high-performance SyncServer® S200™ is an enterprise class GPS Network Time Server that supports the expanding technological requirements of large enterprises, and protects the integrity of their valuable records with accurate, reliable and secure time.

The modular ultra precision Model XLi Time and Frequency System is the most precise, versatile and flexible solution for timing and synchronization requirements. One of the great design benefits of the XLi is that, because of its variety of option cards, a company can customize it to fit to their specific application needs.

The high value, cost effective XL-GPS Time and Frequency Receiver provides advanced performance with an assortment of precision time and frequency outputs. It supports requirements for, test and measurement, central timing systems, process automation, range timing systems, power industry applications and many others.
Clients

Domain Time II is a comprehensive software solution that simplifies time synchronization across the network. Versatile time clients keep the network hierarchy synchronized to a GPS referenced network time server. Easy to use management tools simplify and automate many tasks related to keeping these clients up-to-date. Monitoring functions track time client sync across the network and notify you of any problems.
Synchronization Management

As timing and synchronization grows in importance in critical infrastructure networks, centralized management of this critical function has become essential to network operations. Symmetricom® TimePictra® is a web-based synchronization management system that will scale and evolve with operational requirements.

TimeCraft is an advanced,easy-to-use GUI management tool that provides FCAPS functionality to manage a synchronization device. TimeCraft reduces the complexity of using CLI commands and offers superior management capabilities. Its intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) allows the operator to supervise and control a network element either remotely or locally through icons and simple point and click operations.
Measurement and Analysis

The TimeMonitor Analyzer application is an advanced synchronization measurement analysis tool with the ability to import and analyze data from a number of sources. These include dedicated jitter/wander tests used in networks and labs throughout the world, GPS/SSU/BITS equipment capable of making measurements, packet timing data using timestamped NTP or IEEE 1588 packets, and counters using the companion TimeMonitor Measurement application.
Distribution Systems

A single input provides fifteen outputs for distributing standard clock and other pulse rate signals in laboratory, factory, and test and measurement environments.

RF distribution amplifier delivers a centralized output signal without degradation signals in laboratory, factory, and test and measurement environments.

The 4037A provides one-input, 16-output L1/L2 for distributing GPS antenna signals to communication systems, satellite earth stations, test facilities and engineering labs.

Housed in a compact chassis, the 4059B is a one-input, 15-output low frequency amplifier ideal for distributing IRIG A/B or G time code.

Rackmount RF with two inputs and eight outputs features an autosense fault switch that automatically detects fault conditions and switches upon failure.

Universal and highly versatile, the 9611 offers daisy chain daisy expandability in a low-cost intelligent switching, monitoring and distribution system.

Intelligent switch and distribution unit, the 9611B allows redundant inputs and flexible signal configuration making it easy to deploy and maintain.
