Freescale Semiconductor

The partnership with Freescale Semiconductor enables Symmetricom to offer Network Equipment Manufacturers (NEMs) a highly power-efficient reference design board which integrates the SCi 2000 Embedded Software Clock that runs on Freescale's popular PowerQUICC® platform. This offering provides NEMs and Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs), such as mobile backhaul equipment and base station manufacturers, immediate access to a high performance and robust IEEE 1588 solution that is both versatile and cost effective. This partnership is planned to be extended to enable support of Freescale’s QorIQ™ processors in the near future.

PMC-Sierra

Symmetricom and PMC-Sierra are working together to deliver a high-performance, versatile and power-efficient reference design for customers requiring IEEE 1588 (Precision Time Protocol) compliant products. This reference design combines Symmetricom's SCi 2000 Embedded Software Clock with PMC-Sierra's WinPath3 platform. It enables customers to implement a cost-effective, portable IEEE 1588 solution for wireless base stations, mobile backhaul, Carrier Ethernet and other network applications without the need for dedicated silicon or programmable logic. This integrated offering delivers excellent results and has already been well received by customers.
