Symmetricom’s President and CEO Joins the Alliance of Telecommunications Industry Solutions’ (ATIS) Board of Directors


SAN JOSE, Calif. — Feb. 27, 2008 — Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency technologies that accelerate the deployment and enable the management of next generation networks, today announced Thomas Steipp, president and CEO, has joined the Board of Directors of the Alliance of Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS). ATIS is a leading standards development and technical planning organization committed to rapidly developing and promoting technical and operations standards for the communications and information technologies industry.

Mr. Steipp has served as Symmetricom’s CEO since 1998. Prior to joining Symmetricom, Mr. Steipp served as vice president and general manager of Broadband Data Networks, a division of Scientific-Atlanta.
