As a member of the team defining and developing next-generation of Telecommunication Network Timing and Synchronization Solutions, Symmetricom’s Product Managers are responsible for the product lines that provide solutions for the next-generation of telecommunication networks products and their need for timing and synchronization as well as enabling QoS.
The Telecom Solutions Division (TSD) Marketing team, based in San Jose, is responsible for initiating all efforts that define effective product management including: analyzing market trends and size, new product conception/definition, product development life cycle management, product profit/loss, market launch, ensuring product quality and performance, and increasing market share.
Principal Responsibilities

Develop strategies and tactics to ensure the success of product portfolios in existing and new markets. Emphasis is on the wireless infrastructure market, but also includes markets such as OEMs, Telecom Carriers and Cable. This includes both the international as well as domestic markets.

Launch new products into targeted market segments and manage the life-cycle of products.

Serve as the company’s source of knowledge and analysis for information related to market/technology trends, industry capital expenditures, market sizing (addressable and total), competitive analysis, product position and pricing, as well as defining optimal distribution/sales channels.

Grow strategic accounts by working closely with the Sales organization.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Knowledge of the Telecommunications and Networking industry with a particular emphasis on wireless and next generation packet network architectures.

Knowledge of various wireless, telecom and data-com technologies such as: CDMA, UMTS (W-CDMA), WiMAX, GSM, EDGE, GPRS, Ethernet, SONET/SDH, and MPLS.

Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills

Analytical and strategic thinker with ability to execute

BSEE/BSCS or equivalent
-
3+ years of experience in the Telecommunications or Networking industries

2+ years of experience in Market Management in the Telecommunications or Networking industries
Desired Qualifications

MBA preferred

Demonstrated success in the conception and launch of new products and marketing programs

Demonstrated success in developing new business with OEMs, Carriers (Wireline/Wireless) and Cable companies

In depth knowledge of the wireless infrastructure marketplace

Proven track record in developing partnerships and OEM agreements in the Telecom and Networking industries.
