Symmetricom, Inc. is a market and technology leader in QOE monitoring solutions for IPTV and other triple play services. Seeking to expand upon its position as a leading supplier to CSPs around the globe, Symmetricom is seeking a Director of Sales-EMEA for its QoE Assurance Division who will be based in our office in France.

As a member of the QAD team, this multi-talented individual will be responsible for all strategic sales), competitive positioning and differentiation, new product launches, and the clear articulation of QoE’s value proposition to the market.

The candidate will primarily be responsible for the definition and execution of sales plans and proposals to position Symmetricom’s Quality of Experience products successfully in the Telecommunication Industry.

This position, reporting to the Vice President, Global Sales requires an ability to successfully develop and execute sales strategies to the Telecommunication Industry customers.

  • Manage, direct, and executes sales efforts for Symmetricom’s QoE product portfolio into the European Telecommunication community.
  • Develop and implements sales strategies and tactics in concert with company plans, goals and policies.
  • Develop and articulate account plans for specific accounts.
  • Be accountable for achieving the QoE Division’s goals (booking and other metrics).
  • Develops territory forecasts.
  • Communicate with Telecommunication customers at all levels.
  • Communicates to Symmetricom the needs of the Telecommunication customers.
  • Communicates to Symmetricom the needs of the sales organization to meet the company’s objectives.
  • Communicates to Symmetricom the business climate of the Telecommunication industry at large.

Essential Qualifications:

Accountability, Planning & Reporting

  • Be responsible for the sale of QoE products and services into the Telecommunication Community.
  • Contribute to Divisional sales plans.
  • Compile and maintain Sales Forecasts and hit lists.
  • Meet established sales goals (Quota’s and Management Objectives).
  • Compile Call/trip reports.
  • Compile Monthly reports.
  • Prepare, monitor and work within a budget.
  • Contribute to business case development to support product applications.
  • Develop action plans stating objectives and action items related to a project.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, value to customer, features, benefits and applications.

Supervision

  • Supervise, lead, motivate, direct, coordinate and/or guide employees (either direct or support) and channel partners in work related to the sales objectives.
  • Measure employee performance and report to the employee and company (Performance evaluations).
  • Assign and monitor work of assigned employees.

Customer Relations

  • Conduct sales calls, with travel to customer sites as required by company functions.
  • Understand customer needs, company products and applications.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of existing Telecommunication industry contacts and references.
  • At least 5 years of selling experience to Telecommunication customers with a proven track record in goal attainment.
  • Experienced in sales situations and in front of customers.  Enjoys frequent customer contact.
  • Excellent communications skills. Presents sales material with ease and inspires confidence.
  • Excellent leadership skills with proven record of managing sales engineering team.
  • Ability to travel 25% - 50%.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a “can do” attitude and exceptional follow-through skills.
  • Experience with Video and IPTV is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or similar discipline.
