Company paid relocations is not available.

Under minimum supervision, manages and coordinates the development and/or improvement of products, processes, methods, equipment, strategies, layouts, technologies to manufacture reliable products within an established schedule and budget.  Provide support to all manufacturing areas such as Wave Solder & Second Operations to ensure that we ship products that meet the specifications and are in conformance with workmanship standards.   Develop, modify and update manufacturing procedures related to the areas above.  Support packaging processes.  Provide coaching, training, leadership to assure continue improvement in all areas.  Bring new technology, methods, processes to contribute in quality improvement and cost effective operation. 

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with seven (7) years or more of work related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills  (Spanish / English). 
  • Computer knowledge and programming languages. 
  • Excellent understanding of process/equipment interactions. 
  • Experience in project management including setting and meeting scheduling milestones, risk management and resource management in a highly matrixes environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to move processes from prototype stage into manufacturing.
  • Structured problem solving skills, DOE (Design of Experiment), and knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) methods. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, effective team leader/player.
  • RohS Compliance knowledge.
  • Experience and training in Six Sigma techniques.
  • Knowledge/certification of IPC standards.
  • Experience with CAD and visual aids development.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Investigate, analyze and resolve non-conformances on documentation, contract manufacturer related, manufacturing areas, customer.
  • Participate and/or provide management leadership for internal cross-functional project/teams.
  • Participate and provide support to new products/prototypes.
  • Design and lead implementation of layouts.
  • Design Assembly and Test capacity models.
  • Develop, introduce, validate and lead implementation of manufacturing strategies, technologies and processes.
  • Recommend / submit product holds, component purges.
  • Generate ECO’s, TDA’s and/or engineering documentation as required.
  • Submit product/process documentation updates.
  • Develop and provide technical trainings.
  • Develop, recommend and submit Capital Investment Proposals.
  • Duplicate and/or improve manufacturing equipment and tools.
  • Provide guidance, coaching to other engineers and technicians.
  • Performs highly complex design, development and transfer of methods, strategies and systems.
  • Supplies engineering with technical direction and problem-solving methods.
  • Interacts and supports a variety of groups and managers on technical activities and issues of mutual concerns.
  • Evaluates new designs and process and recommends changes as required. 
  • Provide other groups with solutions and alternatives to process problems.
  • Writes and presents project proposals.
  • Supervise technicians or other related personnel.
  • Plans and implements cost reduction and quality improvement programs for current products.  Propose, develop, lead implementation of projects toward cost reduction and quality improvement.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques. 
  • Green/Black Belt certification. 
  • ISO/TL 9000 knowledge/certification.
